The Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran (SPs UNPAD) is actively supporting gender equality by implementing a women’s empowerment scheme through the Unpad Tourism Festival. This initiative involved over 10% of female students in various roles during the festival, aiming to provide them with opportunities for active participation, leadership, and personal development within the academic environment.
By engaging female students in significant academic and extracurricular activities, SPs UNPAD seeks to foster a supportive atmosphere where women can enhance their skills, gain valuable experience, and develop confidence in both professional and personal spheres. The festival serves as a platform for female students to showcase their talents and contribute meaningfully to the university’s events.
This initiative is closely aligned with SDG 5: Gender Equality, which advocates for the empowerment of women and girls, ensuring equal participation in all aspects of life. Additionally, it supports SDG 4: Quality Education by providing inclusive educational opportunities that promote the personal and professional growth of female students. These efforts also reflect SPs UNPAD’s commitment to the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, as the university continues to drive positive change in fostering gender equality and inclusivity.
Through programs like this, SPs UNPAD reaffirms its dedication to creating an academic environment where women are empowered, their contributions are valued, and they are encouraged to lead in various spheres.
