SPS Unpad Promotes Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Management through Community Programs

The Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Padjadjaran actively supports SDG 15: Life on Land by promoting the conservation and expansion of terrestrial biodiversity. SPs organizes educational events on sustainable land use and programs focused on understanding terrestrial ecosystems.

One notable initiative is the Sustainable Beekeeping Bioproduction System (Tetragonula laeviceps) in Sumedang Regency. This program leverages local community gardens around the Jatigede Reservoir area, providing hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture while preserving biodiversity. Through this approach, SPs not only empowers local communities with practical knowledge of ecosystem management but also contributes to long-term environmental sustainability.

By integrating community-based projects with educational initiatives, SPs fosters awareness of responsible land use and ecological stewardship, reinforcing its commitment to preserving biodiversity and promoting sustainable practices in line with SDG 15.
