Bandung – The Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Padjadjaran demonstrates its commitment to SDG 14: Life Below Water through innovative community and policy initiatives. Through @buah.thelivinglab, SPs promotes fish farming in limited land areas in collaboration with local communities. This program supports household economies while encouraging sustainable water resource management and protecting aquatic ecosystems.
SPs has also adopted strict policies to prevent and reduce marine pollution, particularly from land-based sources, reinforcing its dedication to preserving marine environments from human-induced impacts. In addition, the institution has developed a comprehensive aquatic ecosystem management plan to minimize physical, chemical, and biological disturbances, ensuring long-term ecosystem balance and biodiversity protection.
These initiatives, outlined in the Sustainability Guidelines – Green Campus Handbook, reflect SPs Unpad’s holistic approach to aquatic sustainability, empowering communities while safeguarding ecosystems for future generations.
