Unpad Graduate School Implements Smart Waste Management System with CRAPCO’s WISEbin to Support SDG 12

Sekolah Pascasarjana (SPs) Universitas Padjadjaran has implemented an innovative waste management policy in collaboration with CRAPCO, utilizing WISEbin technology. Currently, four WISEbins are installed across three floors of the SPs building. Unlike conventional recycling machines, WISEbin accommodates all types of domestic waste, not only bottles or cans.

The system incentivizes proper waste sorting by providing economic value to users who dispose of waste correctly, while incorrect sorting results in disincentives. All activities—including waste disposal, point accumulation, deductions, and redemption—are integrated through CRAPCO’s mobile application.

Collected points can be redeemed at WISEMart, located in the SPs canteen, offering attractive discounts. Since July 7, waste disposal access within the SPs building, including the canteen, has been exclusively available through WISEbin.

This initiative reflects SPs Unpad’s strong commitment to sustainability, responsible consumption, and waste reduction. By ensuring that waste is managed efficiently and responsibly, SPs directly contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, fostering a cleaner, smarter, and greener campus environment.
