SPs Unpad Empowers Local Communities through Sustainable Beekeeping Startup “Tetragonus”

The Graduate School (SPs) of Universitas Padjadjaran nurtures Tetragonus, a community-driven startup focused on sustainable beekeeping that empowers local residents while preserving biodiversity, aligning with SDG 15: Life on Land. The initiative enables local women to manage their home gardens by planting flowering plants to feed bees, promoting gender equality and empowerment in accordance with SDG 5.
The honey produced through this program is sold, providing a source of income for the community and supporting health benefits, contributing to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being. Through strong collaboration with local communities, the program fosters inclusive partnerships, supporting SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
Additionally, the project encourages sustainable urban and rural practices, creating healthier, greener, and more resilient communities in line with SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. By integrating environmental conservation, economic empowerment, and community participation, Tetragonus exemplifies a holistic approach to achieving multiple sustainable development goals simultaneously.
