Unpad Graduate School Advances Poverty Alleviation Through Curriculum Innovation, Supporting SDG 1

Bandung, The Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran (SPs Unpad) demonstrates its strong commitment to poverty reduction through academic programs that integrate sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity.
In the Master of Biotechnology, courses such as Genetic Engineering & Agricultural Biotechnology, Bio-industry & Bioprocessing, and Bioremediation & Phytoremediation contribute directly to poverty alleviation by improving agricultural productivity, creating new opportunities in the bioeconomy sector, and restoring degraded environments to secure local livelihoods. Similarly, the Master of Sustainable Science offers Development and Sustainability, which emphasizes inclusive economic growth and ensuring benefits reach vulnerable communities.

Meanwhile, the Doctoral Program in Environmental Sciences and the Master of Sustainable Science adopt interdisciplinary approaches to address issues such as pollution, climate change, natural resource degradation, and fair environmental governance. By generating accessible technologies and sustainable solutions, these programs strengthen community resilience and help reduce structural poverty.

Through these initiatives, SPs Unpad reinforces its contribution to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1: No Poverty.
