The Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, has initiated a training program aimed at improving environmental management performance in various cities across Indonesia. The program includes direct assistance in filling out the Environmental Quality Index (IKLH) application, preparing action plans to improve IKLH scores, and providing online guidance for provincial and city-level Environmental Agencies (DLH) in West Java, Banten, and DKI Jakarta. Participants also engage in trend analysis of environmental quality monitoring results and develop recommendations for strengthening environmental governance at the local level.
This collaborative effort directly supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education through capacity building, SDG 6: Clean Water, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by promoting environmentally responsible urban management, and SDG 13: Climate Action through improved monitoring of environmental indicators. By empowering local governments with the skills and tools to assess and enhance environmental performance, Universitas Padjadjaran and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry are reinforcing Indonesia’s commitment to sustainable development and effective environmental stewardship.
