Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran Ensures Fair Rights and Equal Treatment in Outsourcing Practices

The Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran (SPs UNPAD) has reinforced its commitment to fairness and equality in the workplace through the implementation of policies that ensure the equitable treatment of outsourced workers. These policies, outlined in the institution’s Sustainability Guidelines, guarantee that all outsourced employees receive the same rights as internal staff, with fair workload distribution regardless of gender. Currently, SPs UNPAD employs three security guards and two office boys through an outsourcing scheme, all of whom are assured equal treatment under these guidelines.

This policy aligns with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, which emphasizes the importance of fair and equal work conditions for all employees, including those working under outsourced contracts. By ensuring that outsourced workers are treated fairly, SPs UNPAD is promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth while respecting labor rights. The institution is committed to maintaining work environments that are free from gender-based discrimination, thus supporting a just and respectful workplace culture.

Additionally, the policy reflects SDG 5: Gender Equality, as it ensures that both male and female workers in outsourced roles are treated equally, with no bias in workload distribution or job responsibilities. SPs UNPAD’s approach to outsourcing demonstrates a commitment to breaking down gender barriers in traditionally gendered roles, ensuring equal opportunities for all.

This initiative also contributes to THE Impact Rankings by highlighting the institution’s efforts in promoting fair labor practices, particularly in relation to outsourced employees. Through these actions, SPs UNPAD is leading the way in fostering a more inclusive, fair, and equitable working environment for all, regardless of employment status.

With these policies in place, SPs UNPAD is setting a strong example in the realm of labor rights and equality, ensuring that both internal and outsourced workers are valued equally. This reinforces the institution’s broader commitment to sustainability, inclusivity, and social justice in the workplace.
