SPs UNPAD Strengthens Support Services for Students and Staff with Disabilities

The Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran (SPs UNPAD) continues to lead by example in fostering an inclusive and supportive academic environment. As outlined in its comprehensive Sustainability Guidelines, SPs UNPAD offers specialized support services to assist students and staff with disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to educational opportunities and can thrive within the academic setting. These services include personalized assistance, such as providing sign language interpreters for hearing-impaired students, helping them overcome communication barriers and succeed in their studies.

This initiative aligns closely with SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, reflecting the school’s commitment to making education accessible to all, regardless of physical or sensory disabilities. The focus on tailored support services underscores SPs UNPAD’s proactive efforts in addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities, empowering them to fully engage in both academic and social activities.

Through these initiatives, SPs UNPAD not only fosters an inclusive academic community but also contributes to achieving the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings indicators for equality, diversity, and accessibility. By ensuring students and staff with disabilities receive the support they need, the school is actively working towards a fairer, more equitable society—key tenets of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
