The Sekolah Pascasarjana (SPs) at Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) is committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all its students, faculty, and staff. The Graduate School has recently upgraded its security and safety facilities to support effective building operations and emergency preparedness. These enhancements include the deployment of security personnel, installation of emergency stairs, provision of evacuation maps, establishment of assembly points, and placement of fire extinguishers.
A Comprehensive Approach to Campus Safety:
The upgraded safety facilities are designed to provide a robust response to emergency situations and ensure the well-being of the campus community. Security personnel are on hand to monitor and manage safety protocols, while emergency stairs and evacuation maps guide individuals to safety during unforeseen events. Assembly points are designated for safe congregation, and fire extinguishers are strategically placed to handle potential fire hazards effectively.
Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being
The emphasis on safety and emergency preparedness aligns with SDG 3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all. By creating a secure environment and preparing for emergencies, SPs UNPAD is safeguarding the health and safety of its community.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities
Enhancing campus security also supports SDG 11 by contributing to the development of safe and resilient infrastructure. Effective safety measures and emergency preparedness are critical for creating sustainable and secure urban environments.
Future Initiatives:
UNPAD Graduate School remains dedicated to continually improving its safety measures and responding to emerging needs. Plans are underway to conduct regular safety drills, update emergency response protocols, and provide ongoing training for all campus members. These initiatives are part of a broader commitment to ensuring that the campus remains a safe and supportive space for academic and personal growth.
By aligning these efforts with the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings indicators, SPs UNPAD reaffirms its dedication to advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The Graduate School’s proactive approach to campus safety reflects its broader commitment to fostering a secure and sustainable academic community.
