The Graduate School at Universitas Padjadjaran (SPs UNPAD) is committed to advancing Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The institution’s sustainability guidelines, detailed in Chapter 1 of the “Health and Wellbeing of the Academic Community” section, reflect this commitment through several key initiatives.
In alignment with the sustainability guidelines outlined in Chapter 1, SPs UNPAD actively collaborates with local, national, and global health institutions. Notably, the Biotechnology and Environmental Science programs guide Master’s and Doctoral students in research projects in partnership with medical faculties and health polytechnics, contributing to impactful health research and development.
The guidelines also direct SPs UNPAD to facilitate access to information about physical wellness, heart care, and dental health. The Health Studies and Information Center (PUSDI Wellness) on campus provides a wealth of resources and educational activities designed to enhance physical health knowledge among the academic community.
Moreover, SPs UNPAD, adhering to the Chapter 1 guidelines, offers mental health services through Unpad Wellness. This includes psychological consultations, seminars, and workshops aimed at helping students and staff manage stress and other mental health issues effectively.
In line with the sustainability guidelines, SPs UNPAD provides on-campus health facilities for routine check-ups, such as blood sugar and weight monitoring. These facilities are part of a proactive approach to maintaining the health of the campus community.
The institution also runs health education programs under PUSDI Wellness, covering topics such as heart health, oral hygiene, and eye care. These programs are designed to raise awareness and knowledge about specific health care practices within the academic community.
Furthermore, SPs UNPAD offers sports facilities accessible to both the academic community and the general public. These include sports courts (Mini Basketball Court and Mini Golf) and equipment (Stationary Bikes, Table Tennis) that support physical activity and promote overall health.
Finally, based on the guidelines, SPs UNPAD provides facilities for mental health consultations, including psychological support services for both students and staff. These services aim to assist individuals in managing their mental health concerns effectively.
By adhering to these comprehensive guidelines, SPs UNPAD demonstrates its dedication to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for its academic community, aligning with SDG 3 and promoting overall well-being.(SNM)
