The Sekolah Pascasarjana (SPs) at Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) is proud to highlight the achievements of Anwar Nasrudin, a dedicated student in the Master of Sustainability program who has benefited from the institution’s support for low-income students. Anwar, the son of a farmer, is currently pursuing a Double Degree program in collaboration with Mie University, reflecting SPs’ commitment to expanding educational opportunities for underprivileged students.
Empowering Students Through Financial Support:
Anwar’s journey exemplifies the impact of SPs UNPAD’s financial assistance programs, which include scholarships, tuition fee reductions, and adjustments. This support is crucial for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals without financial barriers.
The Double Degree program allows students like Anwar to study for one year at UNPAD and one year at Mie University, culminating in a degree from both institutions. This initiative not only enhances academic and cultural experiences but also prepares students for global challenges in their respective fields.
Commitment to Inclusivity and Access:
SPs UNPAD has set ambitious targets to annually admit students from low-income backgrounds, ensuring that more individuals have access to quality education. This commitment is aligned with the broader goal of reducing educational disparities and fostering inclusivity within the academic community.
Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 4: Quality Education
SPs UNPAD’s financial support and Double Degree program are in direct alignment with SDG 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. By providing financial aid and access to international programs, UNPAD enhances educational opportunities for students from underprivileged backgrounds.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities
The university’s efforts to support low-income students and facilitate their participation in global education programs align with SDG 10, which focuses on reducing inequalities within and among countries. SPs UNPAD’s initiatives help bridge educational gaps and promote social mobility for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Looking Forward:
UNPAD Graduate School remains dedicated to expanding its support for low-income students and enhancing educational access. Future initiatives will focus on increasing the availability of scholarships, broadening the scope of financial assistance programs, and strengthening partnerships with international institutions to provide even more opportunities for students.
By aligning these efforts with the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings indicators, SPs UNPAD reaffirms its commitment to advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Through these programs, the Graduate School continues to champion educational equity and support the success of all students.
