Promoting Sustainability with Stingless Bee Relocation

September 12, 2023

Today, we relocated stingless bees (Teuweul) to their new home.

In traditional home gardens, stingless bees (Teuweul) offer a unique opportunity for sustainable practices. These small and gentle bees can enhance agricultural production and biodiversity.

Keeping stingless bees in home gardens can enrich local ecosystems and provide an alternative income source. The products from stingless bees—honey, bee pollen, beeswax, and propolis—show significant economic potential, highlighting the importance of sustainability.

This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15 (Life on Land), which emphasizes the conservation of plants, animals, wildlife, and genetic resources for food and agriculture. By promoting the conservation of stingless bees and their habitats, we support biodiversity and sustainable agricultural practices.

At Sekolah Pasca Sarjana, we are dedicated to fostering sustainable development through innovative and eco-friendly practices. The relocation of stingless bees is just one of the many ways we contribute to environmental conservation and community well-being. (SNM)
