Bandung Urban Agriculture Heritage the Living Lab is dedicated to reviving urban agricultural heritage in the city of Bandung. The pressures of commercialization have led many urban farmers to abandon traditional farming practices that have been passed down through generations and proven resilient against climate change threats. Urban agriculture, approached through a heritage lens and maximizing the use of backyard spaces with diverse plant species, is chosen to create economic, social, and environmental benefits, achieving food security, sovereignty, and sustainability.
In implementing policies to ensure the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems related to universities, particularly forests, mountains, and drylands, @buah.thelivinglab aligns with global sustainability goals. This holistic approach supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 15 (Life on Land) by promoting sustainable land use and biodiversity conservation.
@buah.thelivinglab continues to lead initiatives that integrate traditional knowledge with modern urban agriculture practices, fostering resilience and sustainability in Bandung’s urban landscape. Together, we strive towards achieving a future where urban agriculture thrives, ensuring food security and environmental sustainability for all. (SNM)
