INSUAH Research Activities on Urban Agriculture Heritage

July 19, 2023 — As part of the ongoing research activities by the Integrated Study of Urban Agriculture Heritage (INSUAH), we conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) series on July 17-18, 2023. Supported by @dkpp.bandung, the event brought together various urban agriculture groups, including @buruansaebdg, along with their advisors and agricultural extension officers, to identify the driving forces, pressures, state, impacts, and responses (DPSIR) within the heritage-based urban agriculture in Bandung.
This two-day event facilitated direct communication and discussion with urban farming practitioners, enabling us to identify problems and discuss solutions from both emic (urban farmers) and etic (researchers) perspectives. This collaborative approach enriched the discourse, fostering a deeper understanding of heritage-based urban agriculture.
The discussions aimed at addressing challenges related to climate change and disaster risk management, aligning with SDG 13 (Climate Action). By informing and supporting local and regional governments in climate change mitigation, early warning, and risk monitoring, this FGD series contributes significantly to building resilient urban agricultural systems.
