Universitas Padjadjaran Graduate School continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to sustainability through the implementation of comprehensive Sustainability Guidelines. These guidelines specifically address various aspects of water management and conservation on campus, ensuring that every action aligns with the goal of preserving water resources. The Graduate School UNPAD Sustainability Guidelines include the measurement of campus water consumption, estimated at 3,990 liters per day. By utilizing this data, the Graduate School UNPAD monitors water use efficiency and sets sustainable consumption reduction targets. This effort is supported by the implementation of wastewater treatment technology that allows used wudu water and aquarium water to be recycled for irrigation, reducing the need for new water sources. Additionally, the Sustainability Guidelines mandate the use of environmentally friendly building standards that minimize water use, including the installation of automatic sensor faucets and digital water meters. Protocols for preventing water pollution and emergency response procedures are also integrated into these guidelines, maintaining safe and clean water quality on campus. The landscaping policy in the Graduate School UNPAD Sustainability Guidelines prioritizes drought-resistant plants such as cacti, significantly reducing water consumption. Meanwhile, the installation of drinking fountains at various campus locations not only supports access to clean water but also reduces the use of single-use plastic bottles. Off-campus, these Sustainability Guidelines support water conservation projects through collaboration with PDAM Tirtawening, ensuring that water extraction and use are conducted sustainably and within established limits. The Graduate School UNPAD also utilizes these Sustainability Guidelines to educate the community about wise water management through educational programs and social media campaigns aimed at raising awareness about the importance of water conservation. With these Sustainability Guidelines, the Graduate School UNPAD is committed to continuing its leadership in sustainable water management, contributing to environmental preservation, and ensuring the availability of water resources for the future.
