Graduate School UNPAD Launches Sustainability Guidelines Supporting SDG 1

The Graduate School of Universitas Padjadjaran (SPs UNPAD) has taken a significant step towards supporting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 1: No Poverty, by implementing comprehensive sustainability guidelines. These guidelines, detailed in Chapter 4, outline the institution’s commitment to providing essential support for students from low-income families, ensuring they can successfully complete their higher education.

As part of this initiative, SPs UNPAD offers a range of support services, including free meals, scholarships, and legal assistance. These efforts are designed to alleviate both financial and non-academic barriers, allowing students to concentrate fully on their studies without the burden of financial strain. This commitment is rooted in the broader framework established in Chapter 1 of the guidelines, specifically under the section titled “Support for Students from Low-Income Families”.

In addition to supporting its students, SPs UNPAD actively participates in policy-making and regulatory efforts at the local level, aimed at poverty reduction. By engaging in forums, collaborating with government bodies, and advocating for evidence-based policies, the institution contributes to the development of effective strategies to combat poverty and enhance community welfare. This proactive involvement is also highlighted in Chapter 1 of the guidelines, emphasizing SPs UNPAD’s role in poverty alleviation beyond its campus.

These sustainability guidelines reflect SPs UNPAD’s dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment, while also playing a crucial role in the broader fight against poverty in the community.
