Through a strong research track record in the natural resources-environmental field, since 1972 through the Ecology Institute, we have built a comprehensive Environmental Science Study Program based on a multidisciplinary approach. The curriculum for the Environmental Science Study Program was jointly developed with the University of Twente, The Netherlands in 1999 with a global environmental crisis setting, and received input from various ministries, especially the Environment, to strengthen the national environmental context. A multi- and interdisciplinary approach: natural sciences, socio-humanities, policy and law, economics, and technology, form the distinctive character of this study program. Thus, studies in Environmental Science at Universitas Padjadjaran will produce graduates who have a holistic perspective in solving natural resource and environmental issues. In order to increase the competitiveness of graduates at the regional and global levels, Environmental Science has established research and double-degree collaborations for both Masters and Doctoral programs with international partners.
