[GradSchool Unpad] Precision farming (PF) is an agricultural land management system that is based on information on land diversity, plants and climate to produce the best decisions with the aim of obtaining optimal, sustainable benefits while maintaining and protecting the environment.
Purpose of Precision Farming Application
“Increasing land productivity. Processes are managed more quickly and effectively, lowering costs and increasing performance while reducing human resources and finding a balance between agricultural production and preserving the environment”.
Differences between Precision Farming Methods and Traditional Agriculture
In Traditional Agriculture, farmers’ culture and habits are used as a basis or reference for farmers to cultivate crops, as is the case with the concept of precision farming using weather data resources, soil condition data, and the presence of water.
