Graduate School is academic unit in Unpad at the level of faculty with the role of enhancement of educational level as mandated in the preface of UUD 1945. Statute of Unpad also mandated the Graduate School to educate the students to become community member with academic capability in applying, developing, and enriching science, technology, and arts in particular sciences in multi-, inter-, and trans-discipline to improve the level of community and nation. In line with the change of Unpad status as state university with full autonomy and Post Graduate Program has been changed into the Graduate School, then the Graduate School faces several complex challenges.

The first is adaptation to the governance and organizational structure of Unpad as fully autonomous university. Task of the Graduate School has been added to enhance the quality of education, research, and community engagement in multi-, inter-, and trans-discipline manners. Second, is the challenge to produce graduates with multi-, inter-, and trans-discipline perspectives and can compete beyond national market. Third, the Graduate School has to transform research results into innovation and commercialization. It is not only for academic excellence, but also for socioeconomic prosperity. Fourth, the Graduate School should become melting point to attract more prospective students for apex research in Unpad. It is in accordance with the research-based education principle. Last challenge is how to promote the new program under multi-, inter-, and trans-discipline to be acknowledged and appreciated by the stakeholders. With this awareness of challenges, the Graduate School has developed with its new branding and value preposition towards the achievement of its vision and mission.
